Book A Private Lesson At Our Studio!

Whether you want to learn how to use a machine or are interested in making a special project, we invite you to book a private lesson at our studio!

In these one-on-one sessions, you’ll meet with one of our instructors and explore any topic of your choosing. Each session is $40 per hour. After attending your first lesson, you’re welcome to book another one or join one of our regular sewing classes. (Click HERE to view our studio class calendar.)

Why would I want to book a private lesson?

Sewists opt to book a private lesson because they want to learn something new and they don't see that we're currently offering a class on that particular topic. Most of the private lesson requests that we receive are for machine familiarization, in which a person is completely new to the sewing world and would like to really understand how everything works before they jump into their first project. After attending a lesson, these sewists go on to attend their first sewing class and the rest is history! Alternatively, sewists sometimes want to make a specialized project that requires extra time, knowledge, or detail than what we can offer in our regular sewing classes. A private lesson is the best way to achieve that project.

Anyone — kids and adults alike — can book a private lesson. We can also give lessons for machines from many brands, including Janome, Brother, Husqvarna Viking, Pfaff, Singer, and more.

How to book a private lesson:

1.) Read the descriptions below to find the private lesson that will fit your sewing needs and schedule. If it’s a good match, click on the link under the description to sign up online.

2.) If the private lessons that are available below don’t fit your needs or schedule, please fill out the form at the bottom of the page. We’d be happy to help you set up a new lesson. You can also call us at 770-497-2973 to request more information.

Lessons With Charlotte
With over forty years of sewing experience, Charlotte knows a thing or two about sewing! She specializes in garment-making, but she also loves to teach new sewists this wonderful craft! A wonderful instructor with remarkable attention-to-detail, her priority is in making sure that her students have the right tools and instruction so that they can be successful in their sewing journey. With Charlotte as your instructor, there’s no limit as to what you’ll be able to make!

You should book a private lesson with Charlotte if you…

Want to learn how to sew, are interested in learning how to use your machine, or if you hope to become a garment maker.

These are the lessons that she offers on a regular basis:

• Sewing 101 - Do you want to start sewing? Learn in just an hour! Your instructor will teach you all of the sewing basics. When you’re comfortable with the process, you’ll be able to sew your first project — bring your fabrics or buy them at our studio for 20% off! Once you finish your project, it's typical to want more. (Sewing is highly addictive!) After you finish this first session, you can jump into one of our regular sewing classes and start making all the things!

• Machine Familiarization - Do you have a sewing machine and want to learn how to use it? This is the lesson for you! Our instructor will teach you how to operate the machine safely, and will go over threading, winding a bobbin, changing needles, using the stitches, and more. At the end of the session, you’ll practice your new sewing skills on a small project.

• Introduction To Garment-Making - A handmade wardrobe is one step closer to beoming a reality! In this lesson, you'll be introduced to the basics of garment-making. Explore how to read a pattern, learn how to find fabrics to make your clothes, discover sizing techniques, and set-up a machine for garment-making. You may not be able to finish a project during this lesson, but you’ll receive all of the information to help you get started.
